This year has been Crazypants. With a capital C. I spent the first half trying to find a new job, the second half adjusting to a new job, and my housing situation has been tenuous since March. Things are mostly settled now... or rather, for now. I still have to find a new place to live, but I'm no longer in danger of having to spontaneously move, and as such I'm putting my housing search on hold until after the holidays.
My great writing project went kerplunk due to a combination of the aforementioned housing stuff and the release of Mass Effect 3, which sidetracked my life to the point that my friends were all like, "OMG SHUT UP ABOUT THAT STUPID GAME ALREADY!!!!" They will never understand our love... but that's ok. *pats ME3 Collecter's Edition box*
I did get some writing done, but I have to transcribe it, and as it's stuff I'd like to submit for publication, it won't end up here. I do, however, have a handful of cards still to upload from what has been dubbed "The Ill-Fated Exalted Campaign." Ah, that was good times, too. I'd say I shouldn't try to run such a complicated thing when my life is crazy, but the truth is that my live is ALWAYS crazy somehow, and even if it were a tranquil stream in a meditation garden, that game would have still gone poorly. Some things are broken before you ever touch them, ya know? Ah, well. I still have the Epic Exalted Game running. Poor players probably won't get the next session until February....
Meanwhile, I am taking some downtime from projects and life crazy to catch up on some non-Mass Effect video games. (Blasphemy!) I finally beat Final Fantasy VII for the first time. It was alright. I was continuously amazed at how much emotion could be packed into just a couple dozen polygons, and it was interesting to see the roots of more modern RPGs. The grind sucked, but I was expecting it. I'd say if there's one thing I feel kind of sad about after playing the game, it's that unfortunately I've had to move Sephiroth down a few notches on my Hot Bishounen list. I made the decision somewhere in between the mother complex and Sephy being BATS*** CRAZY. Don't get me wrong; he's still hot. But he's the kind of hot that you admire from a distance. Or when they're dead. Because if he notices you, chances are you're gonna get skewered by that gigantic sword of his.
Heh. Gigantic sword.
Anyway, next I'm moving on to the Prince of Emo... I mean, Prince of Persia series. I've already played Sands of Time, so now it's Warrior Within and then Two Thrones. I'm a little miffed that I have to beat Warrior Within before playing Two Thrones, since Two Thrones looked *excellent* and Warrior Within has mostly been... angsty and awkwardly fanservicey, but meh. Pretending to do parkour through neat sets is still cool. For now.
